PFIGen Model

PFIGen is an Excel generic financial model which is designed to analyse projects under the UK government’s Private Finance Initiative. The model is capable of being used on most PFI/PPP and LIFT projects with no modification but certain projects which contain specific non-standard calculations, for instance revenue and cost calculations, may require additional routines to be written.

The model has been constructed and documented in such a way that non regular users are able to set up and modify projects without difficulty.  As well as being able to enter and change the input parameters users can also easily modify the structure of the model with regard to timeframes and reports produced.

Users are concerned only with the definition of the input parameters which means that projects can be set up very rapidly when compared with the alternative option of writing a new model for each project.  As the same model has been used on and audited for a range of projects it has been fully tested and any bugs removed.
